About the catalogue:

The Steve James Producer catalogue features five songs within the Pop, Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and House Music genres, produced by Steve James in collaboration with international acclaimed artists such as Justin Bieber, Martin Garrix ft Bebe Rexha, the Backstreet Boys, Andy Grammer and British girl group Little Mix.

The song that drives most revenue in this catalogue is “In the Name of Love, a collaboration between the Dutch super star DJ  Martin Garrix and American singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha. The song premiered at Ultra Music Festival (Miami) in 2016 and was later on released as the lead single on Garrix’s third EP. The song was a big commercial success and reached the top 10 of the charts all over the world and has earned over a billion streams on Spotify alone and over 700 million streams on YouTube.

Another song that is driving a lot of royalty income for this catalogue is “Power” by the British girl group Little Mix. The song was originally released in 2016, got a remix already in 2017 featuring additional vocals of rapper Stormzy and received renewed attention after becoming viral on TikTok in July 2022.

The three other songs in the catalogue have also had their individual successes and are also performed by huge internationally acclaimed and awarded artists. Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” served as the title track of his fourth album. The Backstreet Boys’ “Nobody Else was released as the 2nd track on their 2019 DNA album, an album that went to number one in many countries and had  particular big success in Japan. For the last production in this catalogue, Steve James collaborated with singer/songwriter Andy Grammer. The result of this collaboration is the uplifting pop song “Best of You”.

The catalogue has experienced consistent yearly royalties (observed over the past 4 years), with the majority of the royalties mainly originating from digital audio streaming.

3

What type of rights are included?

+

The Transferor is listing 50% of his Producer Royalties generated by the songs included in the catalogue.

Producer Royalties: Producer Royalties refer to the payment that is made to music producers for their contributions to a sound recording. Producers are responsible for overseeing the recording process, arranging, composing and creating the sounds that make up a song. In many cases, producers are also involved in the mixing and mastering of the final recording. The royalty payments that producers receive are typically a percentage of the revenue generated from the sale or use of the recording. This percentage is agreed upon beforehand and is typically specified in a producer contract or agreement.

4

At what frequency will royalties be paid out?

+

The royalties are expected to be distributed on a quarterly basis. The royalty payouts on ANote Music Platform might account for some extra time, in order to perform our due diligence activities. ANote Music will be distributing the exact amounts straight to the investor’s account and portfolio wallet as soon as all funds are available and have been verified. The standard fees are applied as is the case for other auctions: 4% when the rights have been acquired during primary market listings, 8% in the case they were traded on the secondary market. For more information on our fees, please read more on the dedicated section on our platform.

5

How is the initial price of the asset determined?

+

As with any listing on the ANote Music platform, an in-depth due diligence process has been executed by our team, carefully analysing and assessing the historical track record of the catalogue. In agreement with the rights owner (Steve James) the initial price has been determined based on the historical average royalties generated in the last 3 years (multiple of 9.20x over the royalties generated in the last 36 months).

Music rights holders offer a portion of their rights up for auction. The catalogues undergo a full due diligence process, reviewing all historical data, contracts and future potentials before getting listed for auction.

You’ll have access to clear charts and easy-to-understand tools, summaries of all necessary financial data and information. You can then decide to place bids during the auction phase and acquire fractional shares of music catalogues. Once the auction ends and your bids are successful, shares will be distributed to your portfolio. The shares become instantly tradable on the secondary market.

Each time royalties are being paid out, you’ll receive the funds, pro-rata to the percentage of the catalogue owned, straight to your account.
