ANote has built a market where music royalties, once reserved for labels and institutions, trade like any other asset class. Seventure Partners and ScaleFund are backing the next stage.
Luxembourg, 29 September 2026. ANote Music (ANote S.A.), the leading European marketplace for buying, selling and earning music royalties, announced today the closing of a €2 million funding round led by Seventure Partners alongside ScaleFund, with participation from existing investors and shareholders of ANote. The money goes toward the two things that make the market deeper: more catalogues to trade, and more people across Europe to trade them, plus continued work on the platform and its app.
Since launching in 2020, ANote Music has built a full market infrastructure for music royalties - a primary auction market, a live secondary order book, and an automated royalties engine - turning song catalogues into a liquid, tradable asset class accessible to individual and professional investors alike. The platform hosts royalties from songs performed by artists including Beyoncé, Avicii, Justin Bieber, Drake and Martin Garrix, with more than 100,000 songs across 36 listed catalogues, 52,000 user accounts, and over €28 million in cumulative transaction value.
ANote was founded by Marzio F. Schena, a former Luxembourg fund manager named to Forbes Under 30 Italy, alongside Matteo Cernuschi and Grégoire Mathonet, a team that pairs capital-markets and technology experience built at institutions including SES, Crédit Suisse and LuxTrust with deep music industry expertise.
ANote's advisers include Mathew Knowles, the executive who managed Beyoncé and Destiny's Child, and George Howard, co-founder of TuneCore.
The round funds three priorities:
- Catalogue supply. Expanding the range of income-producing catalogues listed on the platform, working with labels, publishers, artists and songwriters to bring more music royalties to market.
- International growth. Expanded marketing and user acquisition across Europe, from music fans and individual investors to professional clients.
- Product development. Continued R&D investment in the platform and mobile apps, improving the experience for investors and rights holders as the marketplace scales.
The round lands as the wider market moves in ANote's direction. Global music copyright hit a record $47.2 billion in 2024 (Will Page, Pivotal Economics). Looking further out, Goldman Sachs Research forecasts the broader music market will grow from $105 billion in 2024 to almost $200 billion by 2035. Recent years have seen catalogues from artists such as Queen and Bob Dylan change hands for hundreds of millions of dollars. ANote's thesis is that this asset class, until now the preserve of major labels and institutions, is now within reach of a far wider market: from family offices and smaller funds to individual buyers.
Marzio F. Schena, CEO and Co-founder of ANote Music, commented: "Music royalties have been one of the most resilient income streams in finance, and one of the hardest for ordinary investors to reach. We built ANote to close that gap: fair, transparent valuations for the rights holders who sell, and recurring royalty income for the people who buy. Seventure and ScaleFund let us do that for a far larger market."
David Manjarres, General Partner & Head of ICT department at Seventure Partners, added: "To unlock a global asset class, you need flawless infrastructure, not just a platform. ANote has engineered the definitive financial plumbing for music royalties. Bringing primary auctions, a live secondary order book, and an automated distribution engine under one roof is a rare technical feat, and it’s exactly why we stepped up to lead this round."
Thomas Pav, Principal at ScaleFund, added: "People keep listening to music through every economic downturn, which is what makes music royalties so resilient as an asset class. ANote is turning something once reserved for insiders into an asset a fan or a first-time investor can access. That is exactly the kind of category-defining company we back across Benelux and France."
Breakline Partners (Augustin Deschamps, Antoine Barczyk & Julien Le Broch) acted as financial adviser to ANote Music on the transaction.
About ANote Music
Founded in Luxembourg in 2018 by Marzio F. Schena, Matteo Cernuschi and Grégoire Mathonet, and launched in 2020, ANote Music is Europe's leading marketplace for buying, selling and earning music royalties from top-performing catalogues, including songs performed by global icons like The Kinks, Beyoncé, The Who, Backstreet Boys, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Drake, Avicii and many more.
Similar to a stock exchange, ANote Music allows music rights holders of top-performing songs to auction a portion of their future royalties in an open market, enabling them to sell or transfer their royalty interests and catalogues at fair market terms, rather than in opaque private transactions. At the same time, investors and music enthusiasts can buy the right to receive a portion of their future royalty income, accessing a previously exclusive asset class that offers recurring passive income and competitive returns.
